5.6 KOMPETENCEKRAV I DET INFORMATIONSTEKNOLOGISKE SAMFUND
Ifølge Prensky er der en stor kontrast mellem uddannelsessystemets undervisning og de studerende
fra netgenerationens foretrukne læringsstil – de spiller og leger og interagerer i deres fritid, mens de i
klasselokalet som oftest er passive (Op.cit. p.51). Ph.d. og forskningsleder Bent B. Andresen har i sin
forskning i læring og kompetenceudvikling med it som vilkår for læring, fremhævet, at it-revolutionen
kan medvirke til at skabe et nyt læringsbegreb – den medvirker til at forandre rammerne for udvikling
af kvalifikationer og kompetencer, så disse i højere grad vil bygge på selvdannelse og på de lærendes
egne erfaringer (Andresen, B.B., 1997, p.191). Både i Danmark og internationalt er der en bred interes-
se for læring og kompetencer (Drotner, K., 2006, p.1), men hvad betyder kompetencer egentlig? Et par
definitioner kan hjælpe:
”A competency is more than just knowledge and skills. It involves the ability to meet complex demands,
by drawing on and mobilising psychosocial resources (including skills and attitudes) in a particular
context.” (OECD, 2010, p.4)
“…evnen til at forholde sig til det, man allerede ved, og til at bruge sin viden anderledes…” (Qvortrup,
L., 2002, p.11).
“Evnen til at udføre eller afgøre noget” (Munksgaards Dansk Fremmedordbog, 1997)
Kompetencer er altså evnen til kunne anvende sin viden i forskellige sammenhænge. Hvad betyder det
i dagens informationsteknologiske samfund?
OECD landene26 har med udredningen Definition and Selection of Competencies (DeSeCo) udviklet en
tilføjelse til PISA-undersøgelserne.27 Af den fremgår det, hvilke kompetencer der anses som nødvendi-
ge for at kunne fungere og deltage i vores komplekse og globale informationsteknologiske samfund.
DeSeCo-udredningen definerer tre overordnede typer af kompetencer: Using Tools Interactively, Inte-
racting in Heterogeneous Groups og Acting Autonomously (OECD, 2005).
- Using Tools Interactively er baseret på behovet for at kunne holde sig opdateret med nye tekno-
logier samt at kunne anvende dem i forhold til egne behov. Derudover bygger kompetencen
