I forhold til den digitale generation og Web 2.0 vil Holstebro Museums hjemmeside i lyset af det fore-
gående skulle fokusere noget mere på at udvikle aktiviteter, der er baseret på konversationel interak-
tion. Den digitale generation værdsætter at samarbejde med andre; at kunne vælge og bidrage med
innovative idéer og at lære gennem underholdning. Holstebro Museums hjemmeside må siges endnu
at være et stykke fra at kunne understøtte disse krav og forventninger, og derfor har jeg baseret mine
løsningsforslag på de IKT-midler, som vil være mest realistiske at starte med. Hvis oplevelserne på
museets hjemmeside skal understøtte konversationel interaktion kunne museet udvikle aktiviter som
en museumswiki, hvor brugerne og museet i fællesskab udvikler indholdet – som det tidligere nævnte
eksempel fra Smithsonian Museums wiki. Da museets samlinger spænder over et stort kulturhistorisk
område, kunne wikien udvikles med udgangspunkt i ét område som for eksempel arkæologi. Her kun-
ne der laves indlæg om genstande og om bevaring, registrering og kassation (udskillelse fra samlin-
gen) af genstandene, om arkæologiske lokaliteter, om tiden fra oldtiden til i dag osv. Museet kunne
også oprette et museumsnetværk som Brooklyn Museums, men med fokus på meningsudveksling om
bestemte museumsemner med andre brugere. Museet kunne udvikle virtuelle vikinge- eller middelal-
derspil, hvor brugerne kunne spille sammen i et web-univers.
7.2 LØSNINGSFORSLAG TIL DANMARKS FOTOMUSEUM
7.2.1 INDLEDNING
Danmarks Fotomuseum ønsker løsningsforslag til såvel hjemmeside som museum. Ifølge min samtale
med museets daglige leder, Bjarne Meldgård, ønsker museet at styrke kontakten til nuværende bruge-
re og på samme tid tiltrække flere fra den digitale generation. Museet står over for nogle store udfor-
dringer, da de fleste faste samlinger ikke har ændret sig meget siden de blev sat op i 1970erne. Museet
har meget få ressourcer til at udvikle kommunikationen i museet og på hjemmesiden. Derfor står sam-
lingerne fast i museet og de eneste særudstillinger er museets ca. tre årlige kunstfotografiske udstillin-
ger. Derudover er museet efterhånden lidt af en nicheinstitution, fordi interessen for et af museets
mest centrale virkeområder er ved at uddø – nemlig det analoge kamera og den manuelle billedfrem-
