Museets mange aktiviteter kunne blive kommunikeret i et mere dialogisk hverdagssprog, hvor brugerne kunne kommentere, hvis de skulle få lyst. Jeg vil foreslå museet at oprette to blogs; en til de arkæologiske ansvarsområder og en til museumsrelaterede indlæg. Begge kunne med fordel bruge billeder til at illustrere de forskellige emner. Den arkæologiske blog vil kunne fungere som et netværk for arkæologi-interesserede, hvor der kunne udveksles viden og idéer. Moesgaard Museum oprettede en blog i forbindelse med udgravningen af Bispetorv i Århus, og den blev brugt til at dele billeder og links til presseomtale og som en slags dagbog for udgravningsforløbet.35 Holstebro Museum kunne på samme måde samle deres mange ressourcer og artikler i forbindelse med en fagspecifik blog, hvor arkæologi er omdrejningspunktet. Den museumsrelaterede blog kunne bestå af indlæg fra museets forskellige medarbejdere og dermed følge op på ”bag kulissen”-teksten. Der kunne gøres opmærksom på de film, der bliver vist i museet, på de mange artikler, museets ansatte har skrevet, de digitale nyanbringelser i museet, arrangementer og tilbud i museumscaféen osv. En blog er som regel struktureret i omvendt kronologisk rækkefølge, så de nyeste indlæg står øverst.

Dermed kunne museets blog have en funktion som en beskrivende kalender eller som en slags ressource-database, der både viser nye aktiviteter, men også retrospektivt hvad der tidligere har været af aktiviteter og udstillinger. Disse blogs vil kunne give museet en imødekommende og åben profil og hvis der linkes til dem på forsiden, vil brugerne fra den digitale generation såvel som museets faste brugere måske kunne få vakt nysgerrigheden og klikke sig ind på dem for at læse videre. Desuden er audioguides ofte struktureret omkring et bestemt forløb gennem museernes samlinger. Man må imidlertid forvente, at den digitale generation gerne selv vil kunne kontrollere, organisere og behovstilpasse, og derfor kan podcasts være bedre egnede. De kan lyttes til fra museets hjemmeside eller fra håndholdte enheder i museet. Fordelen ved de fleste podcasts er, at de ofte er korte, og som regel vil man kunne stoppe og spole frem og tilbage i dem fra eksempelvis en smartphone. Kunstmuseet Arken har udviklet en række podcasts, såkaldte ARKcasts, hvor brugerne kan vælge mellem ”audiowalks” til særudstillinger eller podcasts om kunstnere eller udstillinger fortalt af museets ansatte eller af børn. http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/arkcast/id192577022

Der er dermed mange podcasts at vælge imellem og dermed større mulighed for at forskellige typer af brugere vil kunne finde det, som de måtte have lyst at høre under det bestemte besøg. Kommunikati- Den digitale generation på museum 76 onsformen er transmittativ, men modtageren kan selv vælge og kan afbryde, hvis det alligevel ikke fanger interessen. Podcasts vil også kunne bruges som et læringsmiddel, hvor en skoleklasse for eksempel bliver stillet til opgave selv at producere podcasts til museet om emner efter eget valg. Museernes øvrige brugere kunne også lave podcasts, eller vælge hvad museet skulle lave podcasts om – det ville give museet og brugerne imellem et indblik i, hvad forskellige typer finder interessant ved det pågældende museum. Holstebro Museums legetøjssamling kunne kommunikeres af børn ud fra deres oplevelser af genstandene, museets ældre besøgende kunne kommunikere deres erindringer om byens og egnens historie osv. I forhold til den digitale generation og Web 2.0 vil Holstebro Museums hjemmeside i lyset af det foregående skulle fokusere noget mere på at udvikle aktiviteter, der er baseret på konversationel interaktion. Den digitale generation værdsætter at samarbejde med andre; at kunne vælge og bidrage med innovative idéer og at lære gennem underholdning. Holstebro Museums hjemmeside må siges endnu at være et stykke fra at kunne understøtte disse krav og forventninger, og derfor har jeg baseret mine løsningsforslag på de IKT-midler, som vil være mest realistiske at starte med. Hvis oplevelserne på museets hjemmeside skal understøtte konversationel interaktion kunne museet udvikle aktiviter som en museumswiki, hvor brugerne og museet i fællesskab udvikler indholdet – som det tidligere nævnte eksempel fra Smithsonian Museums wiki.

Da museets samlinger spænder over et stort kulturhistorisk område, kunne wikien udvikles med udgangspunkt i ét område som for eksempel arkæologi. Her kunne der laves indlæg om genstande og om bevaring, registrering og kassation (udskillelse fra samlingen) af genstandene, om arkæologiske lokaliteter, om tiden fra oldtiden til i dag osv. Museet kunne også oprette et museumsnetværk som Brooklyn Museums, men med fokus på meningsudveksling om bestemte museumsemner med andre brugere. Museet kunne udvikle virtuelle vikinge- eller middelalderspil, hvor brugerne kunne spille sammen i et web-univers. 7.2 LØSNINGSFORSLAG TIL DANMARKS FOTOMUSEUM 7.2.1 INDLEDNING Danmarks Fotomuseum ønsker løsningsforslag til såvel hjemmeside som museum. Ifølge min samtale med museets daglige leder, Bjarne Meldgård, ønsker museet at styrke kontakten til nuværende brugere og på samme tid tiltrække flere fra den digitale generation. Museet står over for nogle store udfordringer, da de fleste faste samlinger ikke har ændret sig meget siden de blev sat op i 1970erne. Museet har meget få ressourcer til at udvikle kommunikationen i museet og på hjemmesiden. Derfor står samlingerne fast i museet og de eneste særudstillinger er museets ca. tre årlige kunstfotografiske udstillinger. Derudover er museet efterhånden lidt af en nicheinstitution, fordi interessen for et af museets mest centrale virkeområder er ved at uddø – nemlig det analoge kamera og den manuelle billedfrem- Den digitale generation på museum 77 kaldelse. Der findes nok ikke mange fra den digitale generation, der vil interessere sig for produktionen af analoge billeder frem for digitale, så derfor er museet nødt til at tænke kreativt for at tiltrække denne generation og bevare sin relevans som museum. Museumslederen er meget passioneret omkring museets unikke samling og holder sig orienteret om nye tendenser inden for den digitale udvikling samt gennem samtaler med andre statsstøttede museer.
